Actually There are many lamers around with malicious intentions, and maybe you&# 39;re one of their victims.. cot's when someone has your ip can do alot of t hings with it. which i won't explain here, cot's this tutorial is n ot about that.if you're protected with a firewall it don't matter,cot 9;s there are many attacks and even a firewall can be hanged up with many attack s, so the better way to stay protected is by hidding your ip. i'm going to e xplain you how to do it, and there's no patch or files needed for that . is just a ICQ configuration need it that maybe you know about it but most peop le specially the newbies don't know about. :) Make this Simple steps in order to make sure everything will work ok: 1.from your iCQ menu select the Option: Security & Privacy 2.once there select the menu option: Direct Connection 3. from Direct Connection select the last option that says : Allow Direct Connec tion with any user upon your authorization 4. then save and/or apply the new settings and reconnect to ICQ again for the ch anges to take effect. tell anyone or a friend to check for you if your ip addre ss can be view it.... he will say Noup! and he will see your ip Always like this : 0.0.0.0 :) isn't that nice??? lollll that's all by now and no proxy server is needed to do this. i'll ho pe it'll be usefull for you, to stay cool and protected having fun in ICQ wi th your friends. :-) enjoy! this Method to hide your real ip address should work with all icq versions speci ally 2000a & 2000b any builds, and maybe ICQ 99 . i've proved with version 2000b build 3281 and worked great !!!
